Its a frightening idea.. That you are actually in control of your own life. You can do anything you want, as long as it pleases you. Isn't it amazing? You can choose to ruin your life, or you could instead, choose to build it. Its all in your hands.
How do I feel now? About leaving Singapore? Its less then a month away, as a matter of fact, only 3 weeks away. Its never been this close. Its at last.. coming to life. I'm not afraid, neither am I overtly anxious.. I feel as though.. I'm going JB. And the response I got from another friend going to UK was... "Eh.. don't want lah.. go JB so much less glam can!?"
And now we refer to UK as JB...
I have very cheeky students. On friday, a group of sec 3 girls announced loudly after class;"Goodbye Father Jason" oh wonderful.. So I replied with an ecclesiatical blessing for my dearest children. Hah.
I don't want another exercise where I have to practise patience. I've been patient enough, time and time again, surely, things don't change overnight, but we're not even talking about change here, we're talking about not even moving from the dirt. Its amazing how we hang the words 'Revolution' and 'Change' and 'Transformation' by our mouths, and yet stick to the stigmas, and be a total stickler for the old. Its almost hypocritical.
I don't want another Exercise Patience because I don't think I can take another round of testing how much patience I had. Surely, the last time went pretty well.. but I really detest the feeling of it all. Being queit. Being submissive to err. Closing a blind eye. I don't know. You guard yourself with so much stigmas, you even help me to build my own wall! Its frightening, and its destroying everything. sigh.
Everyday's a struggle, you struggle with your weaknesses, the things you don't like, struggle to be a better person, struggle for survival, struggle for work.. And its always right to say that, "For our light and momentary afflictions, there waits a greater glory far beyond our imagination" as aptly said by Paul.. Its all training, for the Kingdom of God.
What is the Kingdom of God to you?

Honk! if you love G-d!
Haha.. totally insane. When we were passing by OLPS, i shouted Honk! if you love G-d!, reached over to the driving wheel, and depressed the car horn! haha.. mel screamed...
And when we passed Maria Avenue (Short form on streetsign said Maria Ave, like Ave Maria.. geddit??) I shouted.. Honk! if you love Mary!! And proceeded to depress the honk one more time..much to the dismay of mel again.. haha..
The truth is.. it was a rather disappointing day.. considering, i made a loss of 300 bucks today. : ( very very very upset over it.. it disturbed my entire balance sheet for the whole month.. and may lead into financial problems at the end of the month. But G-d will provide to those who subsist right? i certainly hope so. : (

And the river flows red.
My nose is blocked. Argh. More like.. By dose iz blarked.
Just got back from wenn's place.. it looks the same after all these years. It felt as if we were still J2s. haha.
One of the more rare times i went to holy fam for mass, and i was appalled at the parishoner's poor attitudes towards mass!
I was always taught (by of course, Fr Gerard) that we MUST respect mass, and respect the church, and that means, dressing appropriately, preferbably our "Sunday best" to show that we value the importance of Sunday mass! And Fr Gerard ALWAYS emphasised that we must keep a prayerful and silent mood in mass so that we can be reflective and be more receptive to what God has to say to us...
And yet....
out of 10 parishoners, about 4 were dressed in....... Bermudas, T-shirt, and FLIP FLOPS. Its not the Zara or Birkenstocks.. Its the BLUE COLOR BUY FROM MAMA SHOP KIND.
And they're not poor mind you. And neither is it about being poor. Even if you're in dire straits you still have a pair of proper shoes and knee covering pants/skirt.
And.. during mass, people were FIDGETTING LIKE ITCHY MONKEYS, and they were SMSING, and TALKING, and FEEDING THEIR SPAWN, and LETTING THEIR SPAWN RUN ALL OVER THE KNEELER, and MAKING A BIG RACKET. Oh goodness..
And.. they never replied or sing or chant during mass.. its like saying mass to a group of itchy zombies.
Then i remembered reading this from Therese of Liseux, that once, when St Therese was doing her rosary, a particular elderly sister was making a racket out of her rosary beads, and it was breaking the concentration of St Therese, and St Therese instead of getting angry.. took the rattling of the beads as music in the background..
Then again.. i've encountered something like that before.. When i was at SPP ado the other day.. there was this auntie who kept chanting Psst Psst.. Psst Psst.. Psst Psst.. (then rattle of rosary beads) and more Psst Psst. Psst Psst.... It was very very very very very annoying. But i prayed for concentration and a loving heart.. and it didn't really come.. but the lady left after a while. heng ah. It was abit irresponsible of her to disregard the atmosphere and concentration of others trying to pray though.
And afterwards, i was trying very hard to figure where the Psst Psst fits in into the Ave Maria and Glory be.. there aren't even any Ss in Hail Mary. the closest is 'Grace' and 'Jesus'.. but it doesn't fit.. she was just going Psst Psst very quickly.. like as if Psst Psst stood for 1 hail mary.
I THINK, that its quite disrespectful for parishoners to come for mass in such rag tag attire, no effort to at all pay respect to the most important sacrament of the catholic church!! And making a racket while people are trying to concentrate is also very impolite and ill-mannered.
If I had children next time, and they were to misbehave or even cry or whimper in church, i will slap them infront of the whole church, and drag that demonic spawn out of the church to be walloped into pulp before returning for mass. Only demons cry and scream in church.
It always works, cry? slap once. cry somemore? slap again. cry even more? slap even harder. like this.. the kid will know crying is wrong.. therefore, he/she won't cry.
