When my mind starts to wander (again).

Everybody, meet Timmy the Dalminites Myops who was a Silurian Trilobite when he was alive.

It basically transalates to Cockroach # 1 who lived under the water near your house 409 million years ago only.

Yes. This is what i study in my course.

This is not the ONLY thing I study though..

Everybody, meet Bert the Cambrian Brachiopod Spiriferida.

That roughly translates to Hum # 1 who lived 510 million years ago in your laksa (or mee siam.. depending on which political party you're from).

It adds a whole new dimension to "Mee Siam mai Hum"?? Hmm.. i'm really old on the political news huh.

I wanted to give Timmy a chinese name, Xiao Qiang, but I was afraid that my British coursemates couldn't accept it that a Trilobite fossilized in England could have a Chinese name. I just wanted to express the extent of Chinese influence on the western world. Xiao Qiang could have migrated from China 510 million years ago to be a pest in UK, like all his other mateys today.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-china. I'm just anti-talkasifyouowntheplacechinesestudentswhothinkthey'resocool.

I'm hungry and bored (again).

By the way. Yes. I name all my fossils. Much to the amusement of everyone around me.

A rough comparison.

Between brachiopods and productus? hell no. had enough of pendicles and denthyliums and umbro and what other nonsense rubbish. Shucks.

Transitting into student life isn't easy, and well, drinking all that transition away doesn't really cut it right anyway.

maybe doing nothing for once in my life, isn't a blessing.

its funny that i used to grumble so much about not having time to myself in the past. haha.

40 feet remains.

Oh no!

I looked up from my practical worksheet, and i realised, it is the 1 month annversary of my arrival in UK. Shucks. Time flies huh.

Reflecting on the past 1 month.. well.. seirously speaking.. all the lies about you having so much fun you wouldn't want to come back? I'm sorry, they're LIES. I never felt more patriotic, and never felt a greater need to cluster with people who can speak my lingo, understand my talk, and behave like me. I just can't help it.

I don't think anyone will NOT miss home lah.

When you're faced with the long term prospects of living here, you don't just look and say, hey.. how am i going to enjoy myself today? Its always, will this build to my future, or, howabout tommorow.

I think i've just got to live and let loose from now onwards. So help me God.

Some of my course mates think i'm damn rajin. and i'm like erm. more like kesian right? haha.. if you failed your malay, go and check up the dictionary on them.. hah

Looking at a trip to london on the 18th/19th primarily to visit Mr Wee, will call him to check if he's around though. haha.

There it is!

Ah. My tagboard reappeared again.

Boring school. look at crystals all day long. Cleavages, lustre, habits, moh's scale, specific gravity, density, structure, triads, diads, tetrads, monoclinics, orthorhombics, color, amorphous, isomorphous, law of constant angles. Urgh. you never felt more disgusted with these shiny looking things.

Somehow, i find myself liking chemistry. Why ah? so weird.

I got skype! Add me jason.lin.job . so exciting.

Oh yes.

Dear EX-students of SAC.

Please do not torture Ms Loh or Ms Whoevertookovermycrummyjob.

Please do not say things like "IwishMrLinwasstillteachingus" in front of her, and be nice.

Cheers

Mr J Lin.

Nodding away on the cleavages of crystals.

Really bummed out from all that funky Chemistry stuff we'd to do today. We're in a royally screwed position with science! : (

At least tommorow's a well, rather light day.. I like Properties of minerals, i really do.. but going for the lecture after 3 hours of mind boggling Scientific problem solving, doesn't make them crystals anymore atractive.

The weather WAS getting a little chilly, so i decided to bring my thick coat to school today. And guess what. It was so darn warm. Ha. so i ended up carrying my coat around the whole day.

I couldn't help but drift away to Singapore during Mineralogy lecture today.. Especially after the Sup Tulang conversation with Helda. Oh how i miss the delicacies of my beloved nation. Especially when i'm eating the meals i cooked myself. : (

Thoughts on the other end of the spectrum. I never thought it'd come to this, but hell, i'm in hell. Yes, the hell that PJPII once ascribed in his encyclical. The God-less realm. I'm so spiritually dry i can set myself on a spiritual forest fire! Oh sigh.

V says she went for a community PnW at Sale on Sunday, and if i was interested, she could go with me. Thats rather exciting!

Other news, Mr Wee is in London, but i can't seem to contact him! I'm seriously thinking about stealing the weekend fromt he 21st to the 22nd to visit him, and at the same time go to Hillsongs London with Jenny and whoever on the same sunday, yet, i have to be back in manchester by latest 7, otherwise, it'll be another altar server's disaster.

Ah. Well, yeah but yeah but yeah but yeah but... I tripped over my cassock yesterday while trying to get up to assist serving communion. It was embarassing, luckily Fr was standing behind me, so people couldn't see. : ( I don't know how many times i've tripped over my cassock since i started serving already. : (

So, Guojun's in Germany now! Thats great! more friends in Europe please!

Mr Brown, Mr Miyagi, Mr Lin. Whats the difference.. bah.

Haha.. its weird that I'm still being called Mr Lin. The banks here call me Mr. Jason. The other day, i was talking to my ex-spec and he called me Sir. Its been at least 6 months since anyone called me Sir. As in like army kind of Sir. Sir. haha.. got actually.. but very rare lah. At AHM sure got people call me Sir one. hahaha.

So yeah. Mr Brown, Mr Miyagi, Mr Lin.. Whats the difference? The spelling lah!

Er, other then the spelling? I also dunno. Not about to waste time to find out.

So.. Mr Lin went to Scotland with the chaplaincy yesterday.. Well, it wasn't THAT fun, considering Mr Lin sat on the bus for like freaking 4.5 hours to get to the freaking place. And the freaking bus was freaking uncomfortable, and the freaking driver turn on the air-con even when it was freaking 15 degs celcius. Freaking mad.

So when Mr Lin got to Carfin, Mr Lin looked angry tired and depressed from the horrible bus ride. But the gardens were rather pretty, got alot of flowers, and erm. yah. ok.

St Franci's Ossibus..Yeah. There were like 700 relics, and we were standing in this room with like dunno how many hundreds of relics on display.. apparently, 500 over are authenticated, and there were like relics of St Francis Xavier (WOOHOO> SFX!!) and St John Bosco, and St Therese of Liseux, St Felicitas, St Augustince, St Francis Assisi Portabello Animal Talking Man, and St Barbara.. Super cool lah!

St somethingTHey would place the relics on chariots like these, and process them. Super heavy sia.. Almost all of the monstrances that house the relics are made of GOLD. PURE.GOLD. Drools. haha

And the Church there was called..... ST FRANCIS XAVIER! How cool is that!? I had to take a picture of that! I had wanted to take a crazy pose.. but the parishoners were coming out from mass or soemthing.. and everyone was already STARING at me. : 9
SFX!

So. Yeah. boring trip. nothing much. hopefully a better weekend next week. Bleargh.

Oh yah. Kinder Bueno here very cheap. 25p only.
