Went to the Christmas Market today with JT. It was freaking great. The color, the sights, the SMELL. Oh gosh. the food. utterly heavenly.
I thought Britain was a palatably dead place. But i was WRONG! Suddenly, being in Britain for the X'mas season, doesn't seem so bad afterall! My greatest comfort? The atmosphere and the FOOD.
Too bad we didn't bring a camera, we popped down after paleontology lab, which was pretty easy today.
I do have to mention the Thanksgiving dinner last night. Yeah sure, Thanksgiving is an American thing ( and i really don't like many things American, other then T shirts, the Catholic church there, Hilary Clinton, Fashion, and being thankful that they got involved with WWII), but we had American members in Bible sharing, so they suggested it, and it was a SWELL idea..
They didn't mention that it was an american styled dinner though, so i brought wo tie.. the dumpling thingy.. while everyone else brought american stuff. : (
so OUTSTANDING lah.
But the food was great, and we had a wonderful evening, all civil and nice, and thankful and friendly, and God-ly, and it was really nice.. i liked it very much.. and i really adore Jacobs Creek, which Sr Kevina kindly provided amply.
We had a very nice dinner too, but i didn't provide any food, because i was 1) too tired to cook after the whole week's rubbish activities, and 2) i had to serve for benediction and mass, and by the time my food was done, it was probably soggy. So praise and thanksgiving, V provided my dish. heh.
The food was great, so was the company..
But an interesting dichotomy transpired in the conversation. I must say that I am indeed perturbed, and have been for a very long time that our youths have no faith at all in the governance of our Republic. In my most humble and honest opinion, they have provided all ways and forms to support and facilitate the growth of each individual in the nation.
I won't go into the specifics into the causes and reasons as to my affirmation of the governance technique to bore the dear young readers, but will do so in due course.
Basically, all i have to say is that, as youths in our young country, we can only have the future, we cannot and must not discredit the government in any way, taking into the account that we, as individuals have reaped great benefits from its so called totalitarian rule. The slipping of any individual is unavoidable, and the stigmatisation of race is the downfall of the race by itself.
All in all, as Catholics, or Christians, we are called to obey our governments, until it becomes tyranny, or when it oppresses our religion or republic, and God will then show us the way.
One of the 3 great evangelical counsels is obedience. Obedience not to death, but to believe that the will of God is the ultimate way.
To live, is to seek Humility, Faith, and Love.
So the question is, is being unhappy, being full of harsh criticisms for the government doing any good for the society? If it doesn't, stop it.
We are all here to build. Not destroy.
It seems that from a general census, especially due to poor blog coverage and outspoken-ness of anti-pap factions, being anti-PAP is the 'IN' or 'COOL' thing to be. : ( sad, sad.
We have been degraded to such a great level that it seems we have no intellect at all.
Lastly, to even believe that the government is 1 bit corrupt is the ULTIMATE failure of our government.
I hate PAP! I'm cool! I voted for Opposition! I'm cool!
Thats why PAP has been coming out with so many stunts to show that they can be cool too.

First day of work today. Travelled all the way to Trafford centre (yes you football nuts, its 5 mins from Old Trafford) and yeah.. basically got stuff done.
I jsut feel. Yeah. plain. plaid. pleochroic. whatever.
Didn't manage to finish labwork today because i could not stay in the lab longer as i usually do. And thats because I didn't want to be late for work.
Its far yes.. But I think i'll manage.. for the next few months till Aldi comes along though.
Pays pretty well.. and pretty flexible too..
But i cannot tell you how tired i feel. I'm really. Poo oo fed.
Haven't had proper sleep since goodness knows when.. either staying up late to finish much procrastinated work or well.. staying up late to play stupid games like Deal or No deal with crazy flatmates.
I have to rearrange my schedule now, and prioritise.. for the first time in 2 months, i am beginning to prioritise my life.. Everyday everytime used to be just.. yeah.. go n have fun.. but now.. must prioritise. sianz. 3 years gonna past real fast..
Something really cheered me up today.. I looked into the microscope looking for a hornblende at optic axis z with nice {100} and {010} cleavages ~60 degrees to identify the alpha and beta ray colors... and this is what i saw!
Do you see it? Its the mineral in the centre with 2 eyes, a smiley face and a brown nose.
denise offered to drive me to the airport next week when i go back to plymouth. how sweet! beats taking the bus or the train..

Going to die. like now.
I hate it when some irritating moronic flatmates choose to play pranks on others in the middle of the night. Yeah.. thankfully i'm not the victim of this shit.. but it still irks me to hear him bang on some other guy's door in the middle of the night when i'm tryin to rush my presentation.
So blardy immature these assholes.
I don't know a Peishan, never did. Never had a female friend ( or hardly) in primary school because when you were younger then 12, girls SUCKED. (they still do. in a different way. : O)
So I don't fancy people defacing my blog with such weird exclamations. Oh yeah. I hate it when people use the synonym Anonymous. Its simply cowardice. And cowards go to hell if you didn't know.
Shit. its raining again. Blardy manchester. aaargh.
We sat at the kitchen discussing our whole experience here since we arrived. Its been 2 months already. And yet i could see, from the 2 other fellow international students, we miss home so much, even though the past 2 months have been smarshagomisingly fantastic, and have been an experience so extremely valuable.
When peng mentioned that he was going to miss out on him watching his younger brother grow up.. it churned out feelings of missing how being part of a larger community where you never needed to switch your accent or speak in another colloquail to fit in. It reminded me of a community who never raised eyebrows when i shouted Alamak! or said Thank you instead of Cheers.
Though i would say that i've caught up with my british peers in terms of understanding them. The culture is still a fair bit of distance to march. People never notice these differences in states of constant inebriation believing themselves to be immersing in the 'British' (drunkard) culture, which obviously is by no means the representative of the local culture.
Very unfortunately, the intellects are dying, and our brain cells are drying up each and everyday, as we seek alternative means to stimulate and engage once again, the political agendas, and right winged notions of love and peace.
The end.

I watched his movie film.
Borat was scary. It really frightened me. I wanted to cry at some parts of the film. I'm too emotionally abnormal to watch Borat. I think I will have nightmares tonight.
