Sometimes...

I'm not one to use harsh words regularly. But. Anyhoo.. its times like these that I feel like bashing my head against the wall for choosing to stay in University Halls next year again.

Why can't a good percentage of Brits respect other people? Is it some kind of culture? strange culture to be so inconsiderate. i.e the Inconsiderate Culture.

I went walking all the way to Salford today.. most people popped their eyeballs out when they hear I did that. Haha.. Francis had a fanciful tale about Salford of 20 men, and an orange juice can that came hurtling in his direction. If i were him.. i'd have flee the scene like a victorian lady.

Journalism is a powerful tool. It helps the guilty to abscond.

It is strange that Manchester United is accusing the police of brutality... when.. They are the ones at fault for selling too many tickets? Strange isn't it? Its always the case of who shouts louder wins.

I tell you.. i live in a very strange culture where people steal SKIMMED MILK (yes. i swear to that) and the spots on the ground are not patterns. They're spit and gum.

I have this crazy plot to put in a large amount of salt into a pint of milk and leave it in the fridge. JY had a better plan. He suggested laxatives. I think laxatives sound like a very good idea. Woe to the bastard who steals my milk!

Does it actually mean that?

Happy New Year!! Yay!! nothing beats new year dinner and food. Good food makes me happy.

THe food on the table wasn't exactly fantastic (I actually believe I cook better) but obviously, it was enough to make me happy.

Nevertheless, being surrounded by the same kind of people (singaporean chinese) on this festive occasion makes me less of a homesick sod that i've been for the past few months of being here.

Surely, being surrounded by people i'd still be homesick? Of course I would. its just the degree of homesickness...

If i were at home in Singapore now.. i'd be probably munching on bakwa, and picking at guazi, watching the lamest reruns of cantonese movies on channel 8, trying my best to keep awake as long as possible so that my mother can live a long life. My mum used to do it too. Till my grandma died (duh!?)..

I miss Bakwa. I miss all the Angbaos (money money money!), I miss the shopping, I miss the gatherings, I miss the food, and I miss whats left of my family. I miss the sickening 30 degree celcius heat. I miss the constant 98% humidity. I miss getting out of the heat into the cool of the air conditioner (now its the other way round..).

I must be crazy! haha

Even though I miss home.. I don't feel terribly awful about it (Thank God!), I don't know why. I just know that things will be alright, and there will always be better times! : )

Yet sometimes.. being surrounded by people and being really busy (like NOW).. It can get a little lonely when theres no one to journey with you.. And this reminds me of the footprints story.. which i have annotated on a cross that Raymond (even though I paid for it first) gave me for Christmas last last year. That through the tougher times.. there were only one set of footprints, because He carried me through it. But somehow.. i don't really think these are tough times. haha.. They're alright..

I dunno. I actually think my current mentality/mood/lack of excitement signifies that i've gotten over the whole brouhaha of living in a new country/environment/culture, and have turn plaid/bored/as usualed over everything here. Its like. Not new and fresh anymore. : (

Shit. I need to be excited again! i like being excited.
