Walking into the student union bar at 11am in the morning, after a decidedly rotten exam, I pursued the bartender.
"Could you do me a triple Gin and Tonic please."
He raises his eyebrows, and glances at his colleague watching, furtively.
"Why, sure!"
His tone was laced with succinct sympathy.
It was the exam week. Students would flock to the bar post-exams to have a quick swig of something strong to wash that gutted feeling down their throats. I was just the first of the many he would be serving strong drinks to.
Lets repeat the sacred mantra: Exams are Poo. Revision is Poo. Studying is Poo. Woe to the woowoos of those who don't think so.

made me cry.
clement's fault.
Pledge to go fur-free at PETA.org
booo china! booooo!!
In other news,
Exams are PANTS. I hate exams. I can't wait for the day that I will never have to take another flipping exam ever again. Everyone says that being students are the best. POO to them! They eat poo for breakfast, lunch, dinner AND tea. POOO!! Their woowoos are full of fleas, and their bojangles are hanging by a thread.
I don't remember feeling THIS miserable about having to sit down in a cold cold room and write furiously about various types of igneous/sedimentary/ore/tectonic stuff for 1.5 hours. Its misery.
And Revision is PANTS. I suck at it. I have no discipline whatsoever. Wonder what happened to all the army crap about waking up at freaking 6.30 in the morning just to make sure 1st parade is done properly, and all those crazy teacher days where I had to wake up at 5.30 to go for mass at 6.30 to start work at 7.20. INSANE I tell you. REally don'y know how the hell I survived bloody 21 years of waking up at 5.30am bloody when more then half the damned country is still in bed.
POO I tell you. Its all POO!
And theres all that rubbish about MONEY! Students are poor! They are in poverty! They can't even afford to pay taxes, thats why we don't pay taxes (the only saving grace of the UK Nanny Government.). We eat cheap food scraped from the bottom of the bins of Asda. Not Sainsburys, not Tescos, not Morrisons, not Booths, not Waitrose, but As-fucking-da. And worse, we freeze all our meat because we cannot afford to eat 2 pounds worth of chicken breast that died about 10 years ago in fucking Ex Soviet Union, in one meal.
And theres the housing we live in. We live in bloody ghettos! Crumbling apart! That large crack on my wall? No, its not a post-modernism expression of the split in society. Its a fucking sign that my house is falling apart!! Why am i wearing a sweater+trackpants+a blanket wrapped around me at the same time? I haven't enough money to pay for heating 24/7 darling. Only a couple of hours a day.
In summary, Exams are Poo, Revision is Poo, Studying is Pants. Woe to the woowoos of those who think otherwise.

Now I know what it is all about.
Its like, even though these exams are each 1.4% of my entire degree, they are still major, in every fucking way.
Its like, they are everything my stupid little life culminated to. Every hour of struggling, studying, and torturing lectures. They all come into this great big macro perspective now. The ultimate test. : (
Then at the end of the day, its not your grades that get you the money, or the happiness, or the desired effects of post university education.. then what is?
I just read from some random guy's blog, a quote from some crazy mayor in New Zealand.. saying.. Jesus was an unemployed long haired bum, who went around causing trouble, and was a shit stirrer at the highest level.
I couldn't help but laugh.
Will made a comment 2 nights ago, that during the Roman times, everyone hated the Christians and persecuted them, while the Romans were very tolerant towards the other religions practiced in the empire because the Christians hated everyone else and was very intolerant towards other religions. I wonder what the Church has to say to that.
Sounds like abit of victimisation syndrome isn't it?

Actually desperate enough.
Dear Dr Gize,
I was recently revising on the topic of Entropy and its relation to ore
deposits.
However, it somehow escapes me on how to relate ore genesis with entropy.
Is it Reduction and Oxidation with the resulting electron gain/loss, or is
entropy itself related to the precipitation of Iron deposits?
I have tried reading Denbigh's Principal of Chemical equilibrium, but it kind of
only made things worse. Other ore petrography books offered little assistance
and comfort.
I hope you can help me out with understanding the concept of entropy within the
context of ore deposits better, as it is doing my head in.
Thank you and Regards
Jason Lin.
