Missing home.

Sometimes, you don't know what you're missing.

Its not the first time that i've written about missing Singapore, and certainly not the last. Its not as easy as, "Just save some money to go home", and my feelings for my home is much more complex than that.
Watching films from back home just made it worse. Its horrific enough that I don't ever see any other Singaporean students here (more by duty of work and general busy-ness than choice), watching a Singaporean film on a thursday evening, alone, is not exactly what I call warm hearted.

It reminded me of the glorious sunshine days where I never needed a jacket, and could live days on end with bermudas tshirt and slippers. It jerked my memory of the sights and smells of the country I grew up in.

I never really wanted to leave. Thats all I could ever say in my defence.

---

Spoke to Dr Droop today about my "future", and I decided that maybe, pursuing a pHd after my degree is not exactly the most practical and ideal thing to do. I might do well with a year or 2 in the industry before deciding to head back to uni to take a phd or something.

At the moment, it stands that I will not continue studying unless I get full funding with stipend for a postgraduate studentship after I graduate. If I don't get any funding, or partial funding, I will seek employment in the industry for a year or 2 before reconsidering my options.

I think its for the best.

There are also so many other considerations to take into account. Things like being away from home for too long each time.

I really need a flight home so bad.

at the docs

Doc: Have you ever in the past month, felt as if you wished you were dead, wanted to kill yourself, or formulated a suicide plan?

Me: Yes, its called exams.

Doc: Have you ever had more then twice your usual intake of alcohol in a 1 hour period?

Me: Yes, its called post exams.

Doc: Have you ever binge eat more then you usually would in a 2 hour period?

Me: Yes, its called a buffet.

Doctor was quite impressed.
